For Czechia, start with a fixed-data plan that covers the whole visit, then compare identical allowances and validity periods. PikoeSIM has the lowest displayed EUR prices in the selected rows below, but price alone does not establish the best service for every traveler. Network access, activation and whether you leave the country are separate decisions. [1] [2] [3]
Disclosure: This comparison was commissioned by PikoeSIM's operator. Recommendations use published offers, not purchases, speed tests or firsthand network trials.
What the price comparison includes
These are selected country-level, fixed-total-data offers retrieved from providers' own pages on 30 October 2026. The comparison preserves the currency shown and does not apply coupons, cashback or a foreign-exchange conversion. Some results are cached provider-page text rather than a live checkout quote.
| Data allowance | Validity | PikoeSIM, EUR | Saily, EUR | Nomad, EUR | Airalo, USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 GB | 30 days | €2.46 | €6.99 | €10.82 | US$8.00 |
| 10 GB | 30 days | €3.16 | €13.49 | €13.85 | US$15.00 |
| 20 GB | 30 days | €5.24 | €21.49 | €17.31 | US$24.00 |
Prices come from PikoeSIM's Czech Republic listing, Saily, Nomad and Airalo. The Czechia and Czech Republic names refer to the same destination in these product lists. The rows do not claim to include every available package. [1] [2] [3] [4]
The EUR offers can be compared directly within each row. Airalo's USD amounts are displayed for transparency, not silently ranked against euros. A card issuer's eventual conversion is a separate transaction detail.
Within PikoeSIM's displayed 30-day selection, moving from 5 GB to 10 GB costs a calculated €0.70. That can make the larger allowance a sensible buffer for someone expecting several uploads or shared-device use. It does not make the larger plan necessary for a traveler who has already estimated a much smaller requirement.
Choose validity around the entire journey
A plan's data amount and its expiry solve different problems. Having unused gigabytes does not help after validity ends, and a long validity period does not replenish an exhausted allowance.
Count the trip from the point that service starts, including the departure day when you may still need transport information and airline messages. For an itinerary that changes, favor a validity period with enough room rather than a plan that fits only the most optimistic schedule.
Do not assume installation starts the clock or that it never does. The product's activation rule governs that detail. PikoeSIM's reviewed Czech listing states that its displayed plans begin on the first network connection. That should still be checked on the exact offer selected, especially when buying well before departure. [1]
For a short Prague break, a small allowance may be enough when you download media beforehand and reserve mobile data for practical tasks. For a longer circuit including spa towns, countryside accommodation and train travel, examine your own expected use rather than relying on a generic "tourist average."
A useful personal estimate separates essential and optional tasks. Navigation, accommodation messages and ticket access belong in the essential group. Streaming and large cloud uploads can often wait. The plan should comfortably support the first group before you decide how much to spend on the second.
Coverage beyond Prague needs an address-level check
PikoeSIM and Nomad's Czech listings name O2 and Vodafone network access. Those labels identify the advertised local networks, but they do not prove identical performance between resellers or guarantee reception at every rural address. [1] [3]
The Czech Telecommunication Office provides guidance that links to operator coverage maps and explains how measurements relate to coverage and contracted service. That is a more useful starting point for a specific stay than a general statement that Czechia has good mobile coverage. [5]
For accommodation outside a major town, look up the actual property location. For a walking route, save the map before leaving the hotel and keep the transport details available offline. Do not make a return journey depend on obtaining a fresh connection at an unfamiliar rural stop.
Remote work requires another layer of caution. Ask the accommodation about its own connection and have a fallback for an important meeting. No provider in this article was tested for video-call quality, indoor reception or latency, so none is described as the fastest or most reliable.
Also read the technology specification carefully. A seller's 5G statement is not a promise of 5G everywhere, and a general marketing badge should not override a more limited plan description. Choose a plan whose documented conditions answer your actual needs.
A data package is not automatically a Czech phone number
PikoeSIM's product description is data-only. It does not include an ordinary local number, calls or SMS. Internet apps can use the allowance, but a requirement to receive a conventional text or make a normal telephone call is a different service need. [6]
Keep that distinction in mind for accommodation contact and account verification. A booking website that accepts app messages is one thing; a process that insists on a reachable telephone number is another. Do not assume the purchase creates a Czech number simply because the data works there.
On supported dual-SIM phones, data and voice preferences can be managed separately. The exact options depend on the handset and carriers; configure them deliberately rather than assuming the newly installed profile becomes the default for everything. [7] [8]
For a shared trip, decide whether one hotspot is genuinely enough. It can be economical while everyone stays together, but separate plans are more practical when people explore independently. Compare the cost of independence with the inconvenience of keeping every device near one phone.
Cross-border travel changes the shortlist
The reviewed PikoeSIM product is for Czech Republic coverage only. A later train to Vienna, Berlin or Bratislava therefore requires a separate coverage decision. Do not infer regional use from the fact that the countries are geographically close. [1]
A regional eSIM may be simpler for a multi-country itinerary, provided its actual country list includes all stops. Compare that product separately rather than mixing its price into a table of Czechia-only offers and calling the result like-for-like.
Your existing home contract may also make a new purchase unnecessary. Eligible EU roaming arrangements can cover travel subject to the contract and fair-use conditions, but that protection is not a blanket rule making every travel data product valid across Europe. [9]
For a Czechia-only trip, PikoeSIM's selected EUR prices are the budget starting point in this comparison. The final choice should still satisfy four conditions: your phone can use it, its allowance suits your habits, validity covers the full stay and the product documents the network and service features you need. A low price is useful only after those conditions are met.
