Choose a Prague Airport lounge by your departure terminal and where you are in the airport process, not by an old lounge name. Since July 2026, the airport's Erste Premier lounges serve Terminals 1 and 2, while the Visa Lounge offers a different Terminal 2 access arrangement. A lounge entitlement, a capacity reservation and priority security are separate benefits. [1][2][3]
The 2026 names can make older advice confusing
The former Mastercard Lounge in Terminal 1 became the Erste Premier Lounge, while the former FastTrack Lounge became the Visa Lounge. Terminal 2 also has an Erste Premier Lounge. Search by the current official name and terminal rather than relying on an older review that may still describe a previous brand. [1][2][3]
A name change does not itself tell you whether your bank card still grants entry. Benefits depend on the issuer, the particular product and current agreements. The airport's page and your card provider's current conditions should be read together.
This is particularly important when the lounge name resembles the card in your wallet. A Visa card does not automatically confer Visa Lounge access, just as a Mastercard-branded product is not proof of free entry to a lounge once called Mastercard. The eligibility rule is contractual, not a consequence of sharing a logo.
Keep a screenshot or offline copy of the applicable benefit and carry the required card or digital credential. Staff must assess the current entitlement, not a travel blog's general statement about a card family.
Terminal 1: understand what remains after the lounge
The Terminal 1 Erste Premier Lounge serves non-Schengen departures. The airport locates it after passport control, while the terminal's departure process still requires attention to the arrangements at the gate area. Reaching the lounge should not be treated as proof that every remaining departure formality is complete. [1]
The published paid-entry product is CZK 1,030 for a two-hour visit, with entry no earlier than three hours before scheduled departure under the stated conditions. Read the product for your date rather than assuming the lounge can replace a hotel during a long overnight wait. [1]
Work backward from your airline's gate deadline. Leave time to reach the correct gate and complete any remaining checks. A comfortable seat can make it easy to lose track of boarding, so set a departure alarm rather than relying on someone to announce every flight.
A lounge is most useful when you have a genuine waiting period after essential formalities, not when entering it creates a rushed final dash. A short visit may still be convenient, but compare its cost with the time you will actually use.
Terminal 2: the airside lounge is the simpler standard choice
The Terminal 2 Erste Premier Lounge is in the Schengen terminal after security, on the third floor. Its location makes it relevant to passengers who have already completed the main security stage and have time before boarding. It is not interchangeable with the Terminal 1 lounge simply because both now share the same name. [2]
The airport lists a corresponding CZK 1,030 paid-entry option for two hours. For two adults paying that rate, the total would be CZK 2,060 before any separately charged service. That calculation helps compare the lounge with an ordinary meal and seating elsewhere in the terminal. [2]
Do not evaluate value only by how much food you might consume. Quiet, a work surface, charging and a predictable place to sit may matter more, while a traveler who mainly wants one coffee may find the price difficult to justify. The relevant comparison is the benefit to your actual waiting period.
Check the policy for accompanying children and guests under the access method you use. A bank benefit for the cardholder does not necessarily include the rest of the family, and a lounge programme's guest allowance may differ from the airport's direct-entry product.
Visa Lounge: a different route through Terminal 2
The Visa Lounge is located in the public area of Terminal 2 and includes its own security-channel arrangement for the relevant departure process. The airport lists paid entry at CZK 1,220. This makes it a different proposition from simply walking into an airside lounge after ordinary security. [3]
Choose it when its location and process genuinely suit your journey. Understand where you enter, which departure terminal you must use and how you proceed afterward. Do not assume it can be used to bypass passport control for a flight departing from the other terminal.
The lounge also advertises separate premium or private arrangements. Read the booking carefully so that you do not confuse basic lounge admission with a more extensive VIP service. Private space, escorting or additional assistance should only be expected when the selected product explicitly includes them. [3]
For a group, compare the full price with the alternative of ordinary security and an airside lounge. The more expensive product may be worthwhile for convenience, but only when the part you are paying extra for solves a real need.
Capacity reservations changed in October 2026
The airport's updated information states that capacity reservations for the Erste Premier lounges became free from October 1, 2026, with advance timing requirements. Older versions of the pages still showed a reservation charge. The newer dated arrangement should not be replaced by a stale fee copied from an earlier guide. [4][5]
A capacity reservation is not the same as purchasing admission. You still need a valid access entitlement or paid-entry product under the lounge's conditions. Reserving space does not make an ineligible bank card eligible, and it does not necessarily include guests who were not part of the reservation.
Use the airport's current reservation process and retain the confirmation. If your flight time changes, check whether the booking still matches the allowed entry period. A reservation for one time window should not be assumed to remain valid for an unrelated departure many hours later.
For travelers booking at short notice, the inability to reserve does not establish either guaranteed entry or guaranteed refusal. Capacity remains an operational question, so keep an alternative place to wait in mind.
Verify the exact card product before relying on free access
Bank benefits can depend on the card tier, account package, annual visit allowance, accompanying guests and conditions imposed by the issuer. Raiffeisenbank's own information illustrates why a product-specific check is necessary rather than a claim that every customer of a bank receives the same lounge access. [6]
Check whether admission is complimentary, discounted or reimbursed later. Those are different financial arrangements. Also establish whether a physical card, an app-generated credential or another form of verification is required.
A sensible lounge decision follows a simple order: identify the terminal, select the relevant lounge, confirm eligibility, then decide whether the useful time inside justifies any payment. This prevents the common mistake of purchasing access first and discovering afterward that the lounge sits on the wrong side of the airport process.
The best choice is the one that makes your departure calmer without weakening your boarding margin. Current names and prices help, but the real value comes from matching the product to the journey you are actually taking.
